Emeryville Day on the Bay

Two weekends ago, while we were at the Emeryville Public Market, I picked up a handout advertising the Emeryville Day on the Bay. It sounded like fun—a free, family-friendly event recognizing the opening day of boating season, featuring live music, food vendors, a jumpy house and boat rides.

Well we went today, to what we learned was the 2nd Annual Emeryville Day on the Bay and had such a good time that we stayed for three hours. Most places do not hold Franco’s attention for that long! We got to the marina around 10:30am, checked things out for a bit, and listened to the mayor (he appeared quite young to be a mayor) welcome the small crowd and thank the organizers. We sipped coffee/hot chocolate while listening to the band while Franco enjoyed the bouncy house.

At noon, we went on a 45-minute boat ride around the bay. Even though the forecast called for rain, the weather cooperated. Franco loved the boat.

Afterward, we sat outside listening to the band again, but this time with a full crowd. With the sun shining, I was in complete peace. Great music, great weather. Who could ask for more?

He looks so cute in his life jacket! And it looks like a beautiful day. Now I need to research this young mayor..

Very beautiful. Thanks for sharing and I need to go out there. Great shots and he is quite the young man.
