Dean and I are on a mission to watch the Academy Award nominees, but many of them aren’t available to rent. So we settled on The Florida Project. It was really good. All of the acting was phenomenal including Willem Dafoe who’s nominated for best supporting actor. But across the board, the acting was great, especially the kids and the lead actress who plays a young, troubled mother. I was shocked to find out she has never acted before! The director scouted her out from her Instagram videos.
Another fascinating fact: the final scene was shot secretly at Disney World without the park’s knowledge using an iPhone 6S Plus.
