Alameda County Fair

This summer, we went to the Alameda County Fair for the first time. The fair, held yearly at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton from mid-June to early-July, has run continuously since 1912! I’d never been and was so excited to check it out with Franco. We beat the weekend crowds and went on Monday July 3.

Open from 11am to 11pm, the fair is a smorgasbord of carnival rides and games, livestock and petting zoos, daily concerts, horse racing, shopping, rodeos, monster trucks, demo derby, and tons of food and drink vendors. We’re going to make this a summer tradition. The highlight for us was the pig races!

Have you gone to a fair this summer?

No fair here yet, as we usually do more fairs usually in the fall. But this one looked like a lot of fun. Oh and Franco with those Legos is seriously too cute 🙂

I’m now a big fan, as I really haven’t been to a county fair yet. It’s like one big community party!

I haven’t yet been to a fair this summer, but it’s definitely on my list! This looks like a really fun one… and my goodness, Franco is getting so big/handsome!

Nice. I haven’t been to the Alameda County Fair in years. I might have to go again. I usually go to the Marin County Fair like this year: http://csuhpat1.blogspot.com/2017/07/a-visit-to-marin-county-fair.html

    It is my favorite.

And a beautiful sunny day! Like Janine said, we have them more in the fall. I believe our next big one is early September and then the BIG BIG one is late September. There’s a farm town one in late August and I can’t wait!

Glad you got a chance to go. I love the fair! It was always a family tradition growing up, and I still go as must out of nostalgia as I do just because I enjoy it. I love all the bright colors, and we don’t do much there aside from eat, look at exhibits etc, but it’s always a fun day.
