Cal Day 2017

We had a blast attending our first Cal Day at my beloved alma mater, UC Berkeley. One of the best things about living in the Bay Area is introducing Franco to where mommy went to school. Franco got his very own passport to science and proceeded to collect stamps throughout the Valley Life Sciences Building, where we viewed fossils, insects and spiders, touched marine animals, and correctly identified a manzanita tree.

Throughout the day, I found myself cracking up with the gravestone of Australopithecus afarensis (RIP Lucy), a career spin wheel (I’m a movie extra!), and a Ken doll in the entomology classroom, gravely wounded by an insect wound with the question, ‘When did Ken die?’

We made our way to the Oski Land kids zone where Franco played games and we were entertained by the band and cheerleaders.

Very nice. I was there also. I went to the Cal Spring Football game and walked through the Cal Day. Got my pic with T-Rex and ended up at the Tennis match (where they served free Fuddruckers burgers and fries).

Glad you went, looks like you had a great day.

Aw, looked like such a fun day and truly loved that you got to share your school with Franco this way!! 🙂

That is special! I haven’t taken my kids to my alma mater yet, but I went to Rutgers. The mascot is the Scarlet Knight. Think of all the cool gear I could get for Scarlet!
