The Great Egg Hunt at the Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate

I think one of the reasons Easter is my favorite holiday is because of the egg hunts. They are just so damn fun.

This year, we went to The Great Egg Hunt at the Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate in Oakland. I didn’t even know about this place and I’ve lived in the Bay Area my whole life. Oh, the things you learn when you have a kid.

Dunsmuir Hellman is a sprawling 50-acre estate with a mansion open for tours and available for event rental.

The Great Egg Hunt featured the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, lots of arts and crafts, and kids music. It was fun enough that we spent three hours there. However, the egg hunt was horrible. They handed four eggs to the parents and said it was up to the parents to ‘hide’ the eggs. So you’d see these parents randomly throwing eggs on the ground when their kid was looking the other way. Totally lame!

Looked like fun. But do agree that egg hunt did sound kind of lame sadly.
