The Most Comfortable Shoe for Work and Commuting

uggDo you have a go-to shoe? The pair that you wear on the weekends, when you’re lounging around at home, or when you do a lot of walking?

I have finally found that shoe–the only one I reach for when it comes to comfort. It’s the pair that I wear every day to work, when I’m spending 15-20 minutes walking from public transportation to the office.

To preface, I have tried a lot of shoes:

  • Minnetonka moccasins
  • Merrells
  • Hunter boots
  • Many brands of ballet flats (Aerosoles, Cole Haan Air Bacara, Crocs, Ecco, Kenneth Cole, Marc Jacobs, Naturalizer, Stuart Weitzman, Yosi Samra)

Some of them are fine if you’re wearing socks, but then, all shoes should be comfortable if you’ve got a layer of socks on. Most of the ballet flats I’ve tried need to be broken in, or there’s always a spot that hurts after a prolonged period of time.

The most comfortable shoe I’ve found that looks professional for work, doesn’t need to be broken in, where you don’t need to wear socks or a liner is the UGG Eitan. The moment I tried them on, I felt like I was wearing luxurious slippers. And they have felt that way day-after-day ever since. I could run a marathon in these ballet flats.

I never thought the classic UGG boots were worth the price. Like I said, any shoe with a sock should be comfortable! But these Eitan flats are absolutely worth the $140 price tag. I have the chestnut color, but the one appearance issue is that the sheepskin lining the inside of the shoe is a lighter color than the outer suede and some of the sheepskin tends to peak through. After I’ve run my chestnut-colored Eitans to the ground, I would probably buy the black ones.

Today is your lucky day because they are currently on sale on the UGG site for $100.

Curious to know what your most comfortable shoe is!

Tempting! How would you say the sizing runs? – I tend to go back and forth between 9.5 and 10 (I know, that sounds HUGE to you!), so it’s always a little challenging for me to buy shoes online…

Those look super comfy! 🙂 I have my eyes on some Bearpaw boots though 🙂 Winter is a-coming, my feet like no air entering in them when outside and those UGG like boots are heavenly. 🙂 Thanks for sharing and have a great one Catherine! -Iva

I have Bearpaw boots that are the warmest things I own! Everything else I have isn’t so warm and cozy. I do love Merrells!

I am definitely checking these out! I like ballet flats, but when it’s really cold out I put them away in favor of shoes with socks. But with the Ugg lining, these would work.

Besides athletic shoes, my Sofft sandals are my most comfortable shoes. I wore them all over Italy!

Ballet flats SHOULD be comfortable. They are flat. I’ve been on a quest to find the perfect pair and it’s harder than I thought. It might be my feet, but both pairs are like walking on clouds everywhere except a rub in the heel. So annoying!! I’d say it’s worth the money to find a good pair.
