Franco is almost 6 months old. He is down to one 3am feeding in the middle of the night, which is great, but means Dean and I are still totally sleep-deprived. Falling back one hour didn’t garner an extra hour of sleep in this household! We also recently finished seven late nights of watching the SF Giants finally win the world series, culminating with a celebratory parade on Halloween. We are transitioning Franco out of a nanny share situation. And we are engaged in writing offers in the hopes of buying a new home, which is complete madness in this competitive real estate market. So yeah, we’ve been super busy. For the Veterans Day holiday next week, we are seriously considering sleeping in!
I’ll leave you with some family pictures we took last month around our beautiful urban neighborhood, Glen Park, San Francisco. Franco is 5 months old here.
After the photographer took the picture with the shadow of the street signs, she said regrettably, “Sorry this one looks like a cross.”
I laughed, “That’s ok! We’re religious!”

Aww, gorgeous pics of you three and by the way, I remember the clocks changing being a real issue, especially with Emma as a baby. It does get better, I promise, but still had Emma up at 6:30 this morning bouncing around, when she didn’t have to be up for another hour for school. So, still not a fan of changing the clocks here to a degree!
Catherine
i think the premise of setting clocks back an hour was drummed up by a bunch of non-parents. oh if i could have one day where i could sleep in!
Savvy
Aww – so cute. Great photo of the three of you. Sounds busy, but like you are settling in just a bit. Happy 6 months.
Catherine
thank you! we are getting there. it ain’t easy…but we are getting there!
Dana
What wonderful family photos, and I love all the unique settings! Franco is precious. Six to nine months was a favorite age for me – sitting up and making sounds, but not yet walking or talking. Perfection!
Catherine
dana, a coworker was telling me that the best time was right before his son started walking. i’m glad he said that because i’ve been waiting for the day until franco starts walking…but now that he mentioned how hard it is to keep an eye on his kid, i think i’ll treasure this time more.

Great pics. I love the Glen Park area. So nice.
Catherine
this photographer did a great job of photographing our hood. so pretty in the light!
cece @Pink Sunshine
Beautiful pics!! Well, that’s some progress with the feedings hopefully you’ll be getting more sleep within the next 6 months or so. Sleep as much as you can for veterans day and don’t feel bad about it. Good luck with house hunting.
Catherine
thank you cece! we are trying to get more sleep, but it is hard. this kid likes to keep his parents up.

Beautiful family photos Catherine!! 🙂 Franco is looking very dapper and debonair 😉 Have a great one love! -Iva
Catherine
thank you iva. these pictures show the one day that we put franco in something that wasn’t a zip-up playsuit! a friend of mine was like, “do you always dress him in pajamas?” haha!

First of all, how is it possible that Franco is already 6 months old?! The photos are beautiful. I think the street sign shadow makes for a really cool effect. And I don’t think it reads “religious” although I’m with you and wouldn’t mind either way.
Congrats on the Giants’ win! But now that the Cubs have signed a new Manager maybe we could have a turn next year?
Catherine
i would totally root for the cubs. even if they were playing the sf giants or the oakland a’s, i would root for the cubs!!! i only went to one game when i was in chicago, but it was so much fun.

Oh, how lovely! You will be so happy you did family pictures! We did them when my son was about 6 months and then I had them printed on canvas. We have three of them hanging over our mantle and I enjoy them each and every day!
Catherine
pictures make me so happy. it really is like reliving those moments and experiences!
Tamara
I like the cross photo!
And wow he’s grown so much and he’s so beautiful. Just so beautiful!
I love seeing these warm, sunny photos of my favorite city.
Catherine
thank you tamara! when is franco going to sleep through the night?! ha! i bet i’ll look at these pictures one day way in the future and i’ll totally forget that i was so sleep-deprived when i was taking these 🙂
