These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Here are some things I’ve been obsessing over lately.

harmless harvestHarmless Harvest 100% raw coconut water. It’s so refreshing and tasty. Omigoodness, I can guzzle this stuff like it’s going out of style. It must come straight from the fountain of youth. It’s expensive, but worth it. I get it delivered from Amazon Fresh. $2.09 for 8 ounces. You can also find it at Whole Paycheck. I mean, Whole Foods. Must try.

game of thrones seriesAren’t we all sad that Game of Thrones Season 4 has come to an end? I figured since I was an English major and not a Film major, I might as well dig into the books. I bought the whole series (5 books) and I’m currently making my way through book 1. It’s a great way to multi-task while breastfeeding! I should clarify that I bought hard copies of the books. I still haven’t made the switch to e-reading. I just can’t do it.

dr. bronner's soapIf you haven’t tried Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap, you have to check it out. It makes your skin tingle! When was the last time your skin tingled? The first time Dean used it, he said he felt like he was in a spa. You gotta be careful with your private parts, though. It’s less tingle and more pants on fire. Also, there’s all this random text on the label. It’s kinda like looking at the wrapping around your In-n-Out burger to see what bible verse you got.

If I were rich, I would get a thai massage every day. I got one today. It was like the best workout ever, especially since I haven’t exercised in…shit…almost a year? For those of you who are in the Bay Area, I went to Balance Thai Massage in the Mission. All their services are 20% for their grand opening, plus I bought their Yelp Deal. All in all, I paid $45 for a 60-minute combination thai massage. I got stretched and prodded. It hurts so good!

hotel tonightHere’s an app where I spend several minutes every day dreaming about a staycation. Hotel Tonight. Have you tried it? Every morning at 9am, hotels release rooms at discounted rates. I could stare at pictures of swimming pools and spas all day long. MAMA NEEDS A VACAY!

I’d stay at a hotel in my own town. Just tell me it would not have animals that zoom around at 5:00am.
And I LOVE coconut water. I have to try that one!
Your skin is thanking you for all that hydration.

I totally need to try those Thai massages – I’ve heard about their wonders but haven’t tried any. I am so depressed I don’t have any new Game of Thrones episodes to look forward to and I would LOVE to be the type of person who can sit and read those books – but I don’t think I have it in me. I can e-read only on the Kindle otherwise my eyes get really strained. It’s surprisingly really pleasant. 🙂 Have a great weekend Catherine! -Iva

The first time I had a Thai massage, it felt like someone broke me apart and put me back together the wrong way. HA! Reflexology massages are my gig $30 for 60 minutes at Happy Feet in Encino, CA

I just saw a piece about Hotel Tonight and it sounds very, very interesting. One day I’d love to take an impulsive, last minute trip somewhere just based on the most fabulous deal I can find at that moment. Wouldn’t that be fun?

Coconut water, huh? I’ll have to try it. I’ve seen that soap in the store but never tried it – thanks for the pants on fire warning. Happy reading – I read like a maniac when I was nursing my daughter – she would fall asleep and I’d leave her on my lap while I kept reading!

I had Harmless Harvest just last week and it was really good! I kind of find coconut water to be not very hydrating though. I need to drink it along with water. Is that weird? I’m obsessing over the new Yes to Coconuts products. Love love love.

I want to try that tingling soap! And why did you have to go and mention massage… It’s been way too long since I’ve had one. 🙁

I would love to try a soap that makes my skin tingle! Since I became pregnant with this last baby, I’ve been trying to eat more clean and I’ve given coconut water a try. It’s a flavor I’m still getting used to, but I’ll give Harmless Harvest a try next time I see it. Lately my favorite indulgence is a sparkling cranberry drink by Ocean Spray. I don’t know if it’s healthy, but it fuels my desire for a wine spritzer or Sangria on a hot day.

I’m with you on the massage. I always say that my first order of business when I make my millions is to schedule some daily massages 🙂

Oh, my goodness… that coconut water is the best! But yes, rather expensive whenever I see it in stores. I have Prime now, so am going to look for it on Amazon. And haven’t tried that soap yet but have heard great things… but never that it makes the skin tingle!
