It’s been crazy adjusting to life as a new mom. Some days are really rough, then other days Franco will give us a break and be mellow. I guess he’s moody just like his mommy! I’ve been working on getting him acquainted with the nanny who will be caring for him when I return to work soon. Yesterday we tried a full day and I started bawling when the nanny came to pick him up in the morning. I loaded Franco into his carseat and he looked at me with his big black eyes asking, “Why are you putting me in this thing so early in the morning?” I have been popping Advil the past couple days, the stress of it all has taken its toll.
I’m going to the BlogHer 2014 Conference at the San Jose convention center this afternoon, taking Franco with me. Try packing for a 3-day conference for yourself plus your newborn plus your hospital-grade breast pump and all its accessories and bottles. Dean will be meeting us tonight, flying in from his work trip to LA.
This is the 10th anniversary of the conference and my first time. I figure since it’s local, I had to go. Also, the BlogHer advertising network is one of the primary ways I make money on my blog. Gotta represent! This is the biggest of all the blog conferences. I wish I knew how many people attend. I’ll have to get that stat. I’m looking forward to seeing Kerry Washington, Arianna Huffington, Kara Swisher and Guy Kawasaki! Woot-woot!

Have a blast!!!!

Aww, totally enjoy and I wish I lived closer. Just hoping next year is on the East Coast – NYC would be awesome, as I live literally 45 minutes by LIRR train and seriously would go in a heartbeat, but couldn’t leave my husband, kids and puppy for three days to go to the opposite coast right now. But very jealous and can’t wait to hear all about it now 🙂

I’ve always wanted to know more about Blogher. I’ve stayed away from it a little because when it first came out, you had to brand your whole site and it was very loud and took over the blog. I was just a blog reader though. Good luck packing everyone and everything!

I wish I was going!!! I’d love to see Kerry Washington speak. Have fun and learn a lot.

Have a blast and learn a lot. I’m counting on a thorough recap when you get home!

I can’t wait to hear what you think about Blogher. Maybe next year I will get my act together and go. I’m sure that Franco will be the star of the show!

How awesome that you’re local – I wanted to go but it was too much for me at this time. 😛 Hopefully, next year but still debating. I would love to see CA, which is where they seem to hold it. Hope you have a blast! So is the nanny taking care of Franco or are you taking him and Dean will be caring for the little one while you’re there? Take diligent notes and can’t wait to hear back on how it all goes!! Have a blast and take care Catherine! -Iva

Oh, I am SOOO excited (and maybe slightly jealous, LOL) for you 🙂 Have a great time and please report back. I have always wanted to go to BlogHer but it was too far for me and the timing isn’t great (what with trying to get my new business off the ground) BUT you must tell us all great stories when you get back 🙂
Glad Dean is able to meet up with you and hope all goes well! Big kiss to your little one. XOXO

Have a GREAT time! I wish I could go. I needed it to be more local, though. 3,000 miles plus summer camp, birthdays, expenses, etc. Next year, I hope!

Can’t wait to hear all about it! If they come back to NY, I’ll go. 🙂

How cool that you live so close to the conference! I would totally go too, if I were you. It may be tough with a newborn, but what a neat experience! Hope you had a good time!
