Quiet Birthday at Home

June 18th was my 39th birthday. Dean kept asking what I wanted to do for my birthday. Umm, completely irrelevant. All that concerns me is keeping Franco from crying. I wasn’t thinking about our wedding anniversary or my birthday! This kid is my main concern.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed a quiet birthday at home. My friend Kitty who was born on the same day was so sweet and sent me a basket of goodies from Mrs. Fields. I was like, no way, I got a prezzie?! I couldn’t believe it. Then Dean came home from the office and spoiled me with hot chocolate and a red velvet cupcake from my favorite bakery, and Three Twins ice-cream and flowers from our neighborhood grocery. Yes, I am a sugar-holic.

Aww, Happy, Happy 39th Birthday. And I definitely remember those first few birthdays after we had the girls. Finally this past year Kevin and I each were able to go out to celebrate while grandma babysat. But even when we did go out, we talked about the kids. Seriously, they are never far from our minds here.

Yum!! I’m a sweets fan myself.
Happy Birthday to you. My 29th birthday was about two weeks after Scarlet was born and I was in the biggest daze of my life. I just wanted sleep but people gave me a lot of cookies.

Amazing how our perspective on certain things change after becoming a mom. I love that the way our loved ones love on us doesn’t change, it makes the “little things” that much more meaningful. Happy belated birthday!

Happy Belated Birthday Catherine!!! Glad you had a pleasant and hopefully for the most part, peaceful birthday at home. 🙂 Being a new mom makes the smallest details, like birthdays, highly overwhelming. At least Dean knows what’s up 🙂 Take care and hope you are all doing well and that Franco isn’t crying too much! -Iva

Happy Birthday. That all sounds delightful. I know some people who are just so absurd with their bday expectations and planning, you’d think they were still children!

Oh yeah, the 40th should absolutely be a big bash. Someone was asking me what I wanted to do for my 28th bday recently and I was like, what do you mean, it’s 28, not 16 or 21 or 30…
