Parenthood

Newborn Photos

Parenting is no joke! Prior to this, the most tired I have ever been was pulling all-nighters, investment banking-style during an M&A deal at work. I considered bringing my pillow into the office, but there wasn’t any time to put my head down! Well let me tell you, caring for a newborn is way worse. I’ve had a couple post-pregnancy meltdowns. Not pretty. Thankfully I have an understanding and generous husband. He certainly does his fair share.

The baby is already one month old! Hard to believe I haven’t had a continuous stretch of sleep for more than 3-and-a-half hours this whole time, but Franco is worth it. Wanted to share some professional photos we had taken when he was 2 weeks old. The SF-based photographer is Allison Busch.

They always say it’s way harder then you expect…even when you expect it to be hard!! He’s so cute and so tiny. I always forget how small they are.

The last photo is my favorite – your son looks so adorable, love his eyes wide open! He looks so alert and focused. 🙂 Plus, you both in the background adds awesome effect to the photo. Treasure these photos, they’ll be so valuable as he grows – and he will quickly! Have a great one Catherine! -Iva

Great photos. A very cute kid.

Cherish these days. I actually miss them. I remember when my daughter was 18 months old and my son was born, that was interesting.

The reason I say cherish is because my daughter is an adult and my son will be a senior in high school and they are in their own worlds. I don’t get to spend a lot of time with them as they are doing their own things. I actually miss those days.

Simply precious. So much joy captured in these photos and you don’t look tired at all. How do you do that?

I also miss these times of the endless snuggle and you really do forget how wee they once were. Enjoy him and each other!

Catherine~ Please give your darlin’ Franco an extra few hugs & kisses from me!

I love the first photo because even though his eyes are closed, it looks like he’s smiling. There he is safe in his cocoon, smiling as he thinks his happy thoughts or dreams his happy dreams. Ahhh! New life. New hope.

I love the photos!! So cute and charming baby. I remembered my first few months of having a baby, I kissed sleeping goodbye! But all worth it, eventually your baby’s sleeping pattern will get better. All the best to you!

Oh my goodness, I can’t take it! He is so adorable. Look at his sweet little smile. You guys look so happy and complete.
I feel ya on the post pregnancy breakdowns, I felt like I had one foot inside the looney bin. It’s such a life changing adjustment to fit a new little person in your life, it really takes a toll but is so worth it. It made me grateful even for the smallest things.

Beautiful baby! That’s one thing about parenthood I really don’t know how I’m going to handle. I need a solid 8-9 hours of sleep a night or I’m useless the next day.

Oh, my goodness… These pictures are so incredibly precious/beautiful! He is perfect 🙂 What a wonderful idea to hire a photographer to take professional pics–you’ll cherish these forever.

XOXO and I’m sorry to hear about the lack of sleep. But thank God you have such a hands-on hubby!

He is so insanely beautiful. You have got a real looker!! All of the pictures are fantastic. I had several meltdowns post pregnancy…its really not your fault hormones, lack of sleep, all of that is HARD on a new momma! Stay strong 🙂
