Parenthood

The Word of the Day is Uncomfortable

I can’t believe I still have another 8 weeks to go. This baby is kicking up a storm…which is awesome because it’s so reassuring. But my eyes have started twitching because I haven’t gotten good rest. My stomach also has rash patches which I can’t help but scratch. I’ve been using a topical steroid that the dermatologist prescribed, but that doesn’t really help. Minor annoyances.

The real problem is that I’m going into my busy period at work for the next two weeks and I don’t know how I’m going to sit through hours and hours of meetings with the baby kicking and a constant need to sit on the toilet!

Ready for some current pictures?

Here’s my baby bump. My mom took these of us in front of my parents’ house in Alameda.

bump1And here is a 3D pic of the baby! I guess I misspoke in my last post. We do not know the gender of our baby. I just want it to be a boy so that’s how I refer to the baby. Doesn’t it look like a ‘he?’

What do you think by the way I’m carrying the baby and the 3D pic?

You look amazing for this far into your pregnancy and are seriously all baby! That said, I took one look at your baby bump and got boy vibes believe it or not. Not that I know for sure or anything, but just was my gut reaction. I hope these next few weeks go quickly and I totally remember those last few weeks both times out being more then a bit uncomfortable. So hugs and wishing you a bit of comfort now, too πŸ™‚

That’s so amazing πŸ™‚ I remember when my son used to kick in the womb, it was sooo exhausting but I did love it. It was a great, definitely reassuring, part in the pregnancy. πŸ™‚ The best part is only you can really experience that, it’s just you and your child having fun, for the most part – you’ll miss that once he/she comes out! My son had a strong kick he never lacked strength, that boy is strong! Enjoy every moment Catherine, last stretch!! Have a great one! -Iva

Time to play the preggo card. Standing is completely acceptable for meetings and presentations. And if you’re desperate Depends underwear. I used panty liners pre and post pregnancy cuz I couldn’t hold it completely.

Given the fear of miscarriage that hung over my pregnancy, I loved when she kicked and asked her every day to remind mommy she was there. Best feeling ever!

You look wonderful and I’m happy to see bump photos. I can’t really tell because I carried differently with both of my kids and I felt differently, but I’ve been told that is just a difference between two pregnancies and not two sexes.
May your baby be happy and healthy and I don’t want to say it looks like a boy, in case it’s a girl, but yes – I hope you’re right! It’s nice to get what you truly want.

I carried the same for both kids, and I had one of each. So I will not even attempt to guess – but I will say with certainly that he or she is going to be one beautiful and much-loved baby! Hang in there Catherine!

    Great photos.

Just think of the great thing that you have helped create when the child is born.

    Many Blessings to you

I know this phase is uncomfortable, but put your feet up and relax (except for those bathroom trips). I’m still sending positive vibes your way – you are getting there one day at a time.
