New Year’s Hike

Happy New Year’s! 2014 is going to be the best ever. We started the year with a sunny drive to Point Reyes, only to end up hiking in very foggy Abbotts Lagoon. It felt like we’d been transported to Ireland.

What’s great about this hike is that it’s flat and short. I love being outdoors, but the pregnancy has zapped all my energy so we haven’t done too much hiking. I’m pretty much a couch potato which sucks because Dean and I are such active, outgoing people. We’ve watched all the episodes of Boardwalk Empire. I’ve finished two books of the Hunger Games trilogy. And Dean has cooked a lot of meals at home. But we managed this bristly cold escape.

I think that looks like a gorgeous place for a winter hike! What a great way to ring in the new year, too. I hope you get some energy soon. Hopefully once the second trimester is in full swing you will feel less drained. Happy New Year!

Hopefully you’ll get some energy back soon, Catherine – but at least you got out there. I have plenty of YA books to recommend, though, if you just want to chill on the couch!

Happy happy new year, sweet pea! What beautiful pictures!! And love that you guys are such an active couple. Hiking is so much fun; once the temps finally start warming up a bit in New Jersey, I’d really like to do this more often, too.

    XOXO

rachel, it was so funny because it was sunny in the town, but then when we arrived at the hike (maybe 10 minute drive away), it was straight doom and gloom.
