San Francisco Bay Area

Walking Across the Golden Gate Bridge

After living in the San Francisco Bay Area for pretty much my whole life, I checked one item off my 40×40 list and walked across the Golden Gate Bridge last weekend. It was a beautiful sunny day. A spur of the moment decision with no camera in hand which is why you’ll notice the graininess of the iPhone pics.

First off, for iPhone photos, I think these came out pretty damn good. And second so happy you got to do this and looked a wonderful time, too. You would think having lived in NY and having been to the city so much in my lifetime that I would have walked over the Brooklyn Bridge, but nope never done it and maybe someday I will get to do this, but loved seeing this and quite inspiring!! 🙂

Yay – you did it! You had a much sunnier day than we did – when we stopped mid-bridge to take a photo of the city, the only thing you could see was the top of the TransAmerica building – so much fog. One down, 39 to go! Or maybe you’ve done some others too…

Great photos. It is one of the greatest things in the world to do.

Hopefully you took some more pics and went to the little park on the Marin side. That is cool.

Next you need to take a tower tour when you are on top of the bridge. I have done that. It is really cool.

You did it! Man, I have to. Glad it was a lovely day. The only time I came close was one of those days with pea soup fog right on the bridge.

I think these photos actually came out pretty great! I have only ever driven across the Golden Gate bridge (both times on my way to Napa-bring on the wine!). I think it was covered in fog both times too! Would love to get a photo like this someday!
