SJND Class of 1993 20 Year Reunion

For any of my high school friends who read my blog, it’s time to register for our 20 year reunion taking place at Rock Wall winery Saturday November 23rd. I was involved with the planning, as I was with all our other reunions, but bowed out recently because of the miscarriages and all of the medical stuff I have to take care of. It’s kind of mind-boggling how much blood I’ve had drawn this year alone.

SJND Class of 1993I went to Saint Joseph Notre Dame, a small private Catholic high school in Alameda. I had the best high school experience a teenager could ask for. We counted fruit flies in Honors Biology so that we could understand genetics. My Trigonometry teacher taught me how to ski and took us on numerous trips to Tahoe. I babysat my teachers’ kids. I was a cheerleader for our beloved basketball team (think Hoosiers) which won back-to-back Division I state championships and starred NBA all-star Jason Kidd. There were only 100 students in my class. I’m in the 2nd row, 2nd from the left. As you scan the picture, I’d also point out how unbelievably diverse my class was, especially for a small private school. The best school and class ever!

Sounded like a wonderful high school experience. I have my 20 year reunion in 2 more years in 2015, just can’t believe how quickly time really flew by.

I moved away to go to college and never returned to my hometown. My 20th HS reunion was the only one I went to. I also went to a small Catholic HS, class of about 180. When I checked in at the registration desk on the first day of the reunion, I was given my badge with my name but someone else’s picture. No kidding! I guess that’s what you get when you wait 20 years to return! Have a great time!

Mo, that is hilarious! In business school, there were 3 of us who were the same height, petite frame, black hair, dark skin, and I would also get called Lena or Gita. And they would get called Catherine. It was a running joke in school.

Ashley, that is too funny. Yes, we grew up at the Peach Pit! We watched that show in high school and also into our college years. We were just gather around and laugh and laugh. Brings back memories, that show!

I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been dealing with miscarriages. That’s SOHARD. I’ve been there.
Your highschool experience sounds perfectly perfect. Also, in reply to your comment on my blog today – you DO know that it’s ok to have your life, live it, celebrate it and worry over it even though others have some hard things to deal with, I hope…

Thank you Kristi, you are such a loyal friend for supporting Courtney. Your post really touched me today. When I read about what happened to someone so young, it brought me to a sad place, and often times it is hard for me to extricate. So thank you for commenting here.

That’s awesome! I haven’t been back for any of my reunions. We moved a lot when I was a kid, so I was only at the high school I graduated from for 2 years. I don’t think any of the friends I was closest to went either. Maybe the next one. I think I’d be more likely to go to a college xc team reunion though.

that is so cool you ran xc in college! and that you keep it up! i mean, how awesome is that. cal was so big i don’t think their reunions would work for me, but i started a book club with my college peeps so i get to see them often enough.
