Sponsored Post: Sporting Opportunities in Rhodes: What Is Available

dh-greece-holidaysMany holiday makers will be flocking to the Greek Island of Rhodes this year, to work on their tans, relax on one of the pristine beaches and paddle in the Aegean, but that’s not what all Rhodes is about. Like many holidays in Greece and beyond, they are what you make them and if you’re looking for a little adventure and a chance to enjoy some outdoor sports, you can be sure to find it.

While the island is notoriously appealing because of its relaxing qualities, as well as a haven for families and groups of friends alike, it’s also popular amongst sport lovers. Whether you fancy a round of golf or would love a kickabout, you will be able to find something to suit you.

The golf courses come highly recommended and, if you can cope with the heat of the midday sun, provide a challenging day of golf for anyone with a hankering to tee off.

The beaches are, undoubtedly, the main hub of activity, with plenty of activities available should you wish to rise from your sun lounger. Swimming in the sea armed with a snorkel and some flippers can be incredibly satisfying, while the watersports opportunities are second to none. Parasailing, jetskiing and waterskiing are all popular with locals and holidaymakers alike and a great chance to try something different abroad.

If you’d prefer to stay on dry land and would like something more up-tempo, the Rhodes Off-Road Safari would be an awesome, exhilarating way of seeing some of the island seldom-seen.

Fancy something a little more extreme to get the adrenaline pumping? Bungee jumping and sphering are both available near the vibrant resort of Faliraki, which, if you have the stomach for them, will definitely get the heart racing while providing you with an experience you will never forget.

A holiday in Rhodes can be as busy as you want it to be. If you fancy getting your teeth stuck into an outdoor activity, Rhodes has it – that’s if you can peel yourself away from the sensational beaches.
