Money Monday: Banana Republic

I’m not really a Banana Republic shopper, but Dean wanted to do some shopping to spruce up his wardrobe and there’s a huge BR store a few blocks from where we live. It’s so hard not to spend money living in the city!

While I’m not a big fan of their clothing, I do like some of their basics like sweaters and turtlenecks. I told myself I wasn’t going to buy anything, but “naturally” I found something to spend money on–a cute and expensive work dress that fits perfectly. Few things fit me perfectly without alteration.

Next to the cash register were these nylon recyclable bags that came in different colors. The bags were $10, but every time you use it for all of 2012, you get 10% off every item you buy. How crazy is that? Dean had already purchased his stuff, but I asked if we could apply the 10% discount. They were fine with that. Great customer service!

The BR website always has crazy discounts (right now, 30% off your purchase), but the dress I bought wasn’t on the website.
