I get a facial probably once a year. I think they’re a big rip-off, but my pores do get clogged and I need a professional to get in there and extract.
When I was in Shanghai, I got the most amazing (and expensive) facial wherein the esthetician used a pinning technique to do the extraction. Unlike American extractions when someone is digging into your face with their fingernails, the Chinese facial was painless yet effective. I remember returning from my trip and calling a bunch of beauty salons in the Richmond and Sunset to see if anyone had that same technique. Can’t find anyone.
And so I resort to scanning Groupons and the Yelp deals just so I can get my annual facial.
Instead of paying $100+ for a facial, I thought what if I buy the products that these estheticians use? I went on Amazon and purchased Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion Peel System. Amazing stuff! As good as a professional microdermabrasi0n, for an eighth of the price. Also, my face is sensitive so estheticians have only been able to do light microdermabrasions. My skin can’t take it.
You can also purchase all types of gel peels and apply them yourself: salicylic, glycolic, lactic acid. Whatever you want. Give yourself a facial today.
I’m having issues with my home laptop and can’t seem to insert photos (I definitely need either a new laptop or an iPad).
