This wasn’t even for Valentine’s or our anniversary, but just because. Dean is so thoughtful and sincere. I was gone one evening for a Burning Man event. He went through my closet and found a vial of perfume I’d been raving about. “I love this new perfume I’ve been wearing. It’s not florally but musky. It’s just a sample so it didn’t cost anything.”
As soon as I left, he walked down to Union Square, inquiring at Macy’s, then Neiman Marcus. He finally made his way to Sephora where he purchased a bottle of Tocca Giulietta. He presented the ribbon-wrapped gift to me as soon as I arrived home.
“Oh, this is so sweet. Did you get me a candle?”
“No, it’s that perfume you’ve been wearing. I found the sample in your closet.”
“Oh no! I hate that scent. I’ve been wearing the sample that’s in the bathroom closet. That’s so nice, honey, but please return it and get a refund. So sweet, but get your money back!”
