Someone’s Getting Excited!

I am freaking out about our trip to Shanghai. People are getting excited for me and sending me places to go. Food! It’s all about the food which Marc says is amaze-balls. If you have any recommendations, please send them my way. I’m compiling a list.

pvgHere’s where we’re flying into. The new modern Pu Dong (PVG) airport. Doesn’t it look eerily similar to the San Francisco airport. Very western. Way to go, China! Stepping it up a notch by copying us.

jiaIf you don’t have nice accommodations, how can you relax? Well, I couldn’t have picked a better hotel myself, Jia Shanghai which is smack in the center of town. Super chic and hip. I like that it has touches of color throughout the room.

shintori - fusion

Like I said, it’s all about the food. I die for food! I’m sure Marc will have a ton of places he wants to go, but I’d like to check out this place which used to be a cinema for retired government officials. Shintori, trendy Japanese restaurant serving fusion–lots of the restaurants seem to be fusion.

szichOne more tease. Gotta have Chinese food in China. Sichuan Citizen serves red hot spicy cuisine. Duh, look at that decor. Wallpaper says to “expect plenty of hot dishes and mountains of dried red chillies and tofu cooked with Sichuan peppercorns that numb your tongue.” Hooray for sweating off the calories while eating. Love that.
