Did any of you participate in the earthquake drill that seemed to take place all over the Bay Area? Local employees in my company ducked and covered at precisely 10:21am on Thursday 10/21. I thought it was just for my company. We’re always doing business continuity planning. Then I heard all of San Francisco was doing it.
Then I got this email from the City of Oakland (I had setup alerts during the Mehserle trial). “It’s time to ShakeOut Oakland, California! Remember to Drop, Cover and Hold On at 10:21 am today! Please note that the City of Oakland’s emergency warning sirens will sound at 10:21am on Thursday, October 21 to alert employees and the public to the start of the drill. This is part of the earthquake drill, and not an emergency warning.”
Bay Area-wide preparedness. That’s new to me. Also just found out, sadly, that POP-CORN is gone. Remember that number we all called to find out the exact time?
