Flying Solo

Yesterday my mother sent me an email asking why I was going on all these trips without my husband and how did he feel about that.

Considering I just got married, I can see how my nationwide summer travels without Dean seems odd.  But then again, I shouldn’t be placed into the rubric of stay-at-home wife.

I sternly told her that I couldn’t help the fact that I started this year with almost seven weeks of vacation.  Every single day I have of paid time off is extremely well-deserved.  Even after the wedding and all my travelling, I still have another three weeks left for the rest of the year.  What’s an adventurous girl to do with all that time off?

I’d love to jetset around the world with Dean.  I’d love a friggin honeymoon.  But with Dean’s new job, we can’t always get what we want.  I told my mom I’d have to settle for honeymooning with my friends for now!

Also, while Dean and I haven’t done plane-changing, mind-numbing travel, we do a lot of local getaways and really make the most of our weekends.  Like the one starting in two hours!!!
