Here’s a video clip making the twitter and email distribution rounds. It depicts one of the funded art pieces coming to Burning Man this year. How cool is this? I am considering going up for a few days to catch a glimpse of this marvel. Bad ass!
Also here’s my favorite description of the event. “For those who enjoy art, this is a feast with a capital F. For those who enjoy people watching, oh my God! For those who seek nature, prepare to mingle with the elements. For those fed up with commercialism, there is no vending at the event, only generosity or barter in kind. For those who seek a Bacchanalian catharsis, the festival offers the intensity of Mardi Gras with the consciousness of a dojo. To get a sense of the ethics at Burning Man, imagine a New Year’s Eve event where the guests remove every last piece of confetti.” Rob Sidon, Common Ground magazine July/August 2009
