This is why I love social media. I’ve been clipping pictures of my dream wedding band. I decided I wanted something that was rose gold with diamonds. I looked at jewelers in San Francisco, New York. They had some things that I really liked, but way more expensive than what I wanted to pay. I got on Yelp and searched for a jeweler who could create something from all the magazine pictures I’d ripped apart.
I had my heart set on a rose gold wedding band from a designer who sells at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. The local jeweler took one look and said, “No problem. I’ll charge you this amount.”
I laughed, “You know Neiman Marcus is charging 3 times that price.”
He asked with a straight face, “For how many bands?”
“Just one.”
“One? Unbelievable. I’ll have it ready for you in three weeks. Exactly the way you want it.”
And he did.
Now if only I could find a seamstress who can make me exactly what I want from the stack of magazine rip-outs that I collect. That would be a dream.
