Nopalito…Changed My Life

NopalitoIDRarely are you going to see me post a Yelp review on my website.  I assume most people who read my blog also follow me on Twitter and Facebook which is where I post my Yelp reviews, but this one deserve the double-read.

The only reason I haven’t gone to Nopalito is because I hate how they don’t take reservations.  (I found out that you can call and have your name added to their waitlist.) But finally got to go today.  The food is divine!  Not just the best Mexican, but one of the best overall restaurants in the city.  The taquitos were fantastic, but my least favorite of the three things we ordered.  Came with sour cream and guac to dip them in.  We also ordered the carnitas which were perfect with the right amount of fat.  The carnitas were my fiance’s favorite.  The pork quesadillas were my fave.  Crispy on the outside with a lot of filling.  I love it when I find great restaurants and even better prices.  You don’t have to go to Fleur de Lys (never been) or Gary Danko (also never been) when there is amazing, inexpensive food all over the city.

What do you think?  Are those expensive restaurants worth it?  I personally don’t think so.
