Had dinner at the new Lafitte restaurant at Pier 5 on the Embarcadero last night. I know it was only their second day open, but the experience was so horrible, I trashed them on Yelp.
Michael Bauer, the San Francisco Chronicle food critic, came out with his top 100 restaurants yesterday. I don’t agree with him because they’re all high-priced and not necessarily worth it for the money.
As a Bay Area native who feels like she’s tried almost every restaurant in the city, here’s my top list. This accounts for the food, ambiance, service, wait time, everything. So if I think the food is spectacular and the setting not so much, I’ll include it because the food is amazing. These are restaurants that are consistently good and which I favor over all others.
