The Bare Minimum

cut-cost-save-moneySticking to a budget takes on a whole new meaning when there’s a layoff in the family.  Poor Dean gave up cable yesterday, including his coveted ESPN.  He got rid of his gym membership.  We haven’t eaten out.  Dean signed up for unemployment which is our saving grace.  It’s about $1800 a month, depending on who you ask since Obama apparently bumped it up by $25 recently.  Our rent is only $1200 so unemployment is enough to take care of Dean’s everyday expenses.

Now that we’ve reduced where we could, it’s on to the job search.
