I was pretty stoked to come home from work today and see Dean ready to take off to have drinks with friends. I gave a big smile as I waved him out the door, “Have fun! Take your time!”
As social as Dean is, he doesn’t have very many city friends to hang out with. I call them ‘the riff raff’ because they’re not professionals. They’re bartenders, late night losers. He wanted someone in his wedding party who consistently pays rent late. I put an end to that. I made it very clear that I dislike his friends. I know he’s trying, but it’s hard when his friends who live in the city spend all their non-working hours at R bar.
As soon as Dean walked out the door, I headed for the kitchen, looking forward to having a bowl of the potato salad Joy had made for my birthday picnic. The damn asshole ate the whole vat of potato salad. And I’d been craving it all day!
Oh well, I’m simply enjoying my alone time. This is only one of two evenings I’ve been by myself since I moved in. The guy is always here!
I’ve got some good news, though. My admin whose family owns property in North Beach says one apartment will be vacant in September. I inquired about it: 2 bedrooms, a deck, plus parking for $1,950. She said it’s mine if I want it. I want it. The only problem is figuring out what to do about my condo. Should I put it on the market? Should I try to find another tenant and risk Dean and I possibly paying rent and me paying a mortgage? That would be bad. At least I have time. After this third refi, my mortgage is now $1,800 so I prefer to keep the place and rent it out.
If anyone is looking for a clean 1 bedroom with parking in the September / October timeframe, let me know!
