I was in the lunch room today, microwaving my Lean Cuisine. I was peeking through some cookies someone had left for everyone to share on the table when this guy comes in to fill his water bottle and asks declaratively, “You’re not going to eat any of that are you?”
I looked up quizzically.
He proceeded, “Can you imagine how many calories are in those things. It’ll take you forever to work it off.”
He seemed like a normal guy. Not the type that’s overly-fit. Just normal looking. Not fat, not athletic.
I hate righteous people like that. I hate it period. But how dare he make some comment like that to a girl like me who weighs less than average for my height and clearly looks thin. No wonder people have eating disorders and freak out about eating a a tomato wedge!
I glared at him. “So what? I think people should eat whatever they want.”
They were granola cookies which I despise. I hate granola-laced anything. But I picked up the biggest piece and held it up to him. “Yeah I’m going to eat this.” I took a big fat bite and walked out.
