He’s Coming

I have this weird intuition that some guy is going to be popping into my life soon.  I don’t know why.  I even feel funny writing it down, but it’s just this feeling I have.

Now you all know my sister is preggers, right?  Anywho, I know that she’s going to have a girl.  I don’t know that for a fact.  She doesn’t find out until March 10th.  But a couple weeks ago, out of the blue, I called her and said, “I think you’re going to have a girl.”  And when I saw Therese this weekend, again I said, “Yeah, you’re going to have a girl.  Give me a call at work on the 10th, but I already know it’s going to be a girl.”  Strange how you just feel something and know it without any rhyme or reason.
Knowing that this guy is coming around, I decided to lay it all out there—to mold my perfect guy. I drew a picture of him (a stick figure, rather).  A tall stick figure with curly hair, two balls, a big weewee, and a big heart.  That was the extent of my drawing.  But around him, I wrote down all the traits that mattered to me.  I thought about my exes, my past relationships, what worked, what didn’t work, what I like in my friends, what I hate in them.  Thinking about all that, I wrote down the important characteristics that came to mind.  And after that, I asked myself what really mattered out of that whole list.  What was non-negotiable?  And that’s what’s starred.

I didn’t intentionally come up with ten non-negotiable characteristics.  It just came out that way when I circled the most important ones.  Now you know.  The word is out, the thoughts are out.  Calling all tall, curly-haired geniuses…
