Love to All in 2008

Happy New Year’s! I didn’t get up off of my bed until 1pm and am dying to get this post out as I’m ready to take another nap. I dabbled in a little bit of the starry dust last night, leaving Marc’s place after 4am. It was me, Marc, and another friend closing out the night laughing through a very funny Joan Rivers special. I’ve never watched her perform before. She’s hilarious. No one is immune, which I love with comedy. You have to make fun of everyone if you’re going to make fun of anyone at all. One of her jokes was about her dog committing suicide because she has Filipino neighbors. The stereotype being that Filipinos eat dogs.

Props to Top Chef Marc who laid out an amazing NYE sit-down dinner, starting with caviar and champagne. That definitely set the tone because every course thereafter was truly fabulous. Marc has a gift for creating simple, sophisticated, tasty dishes. I had the honor of being the only female among fourteen other queens. It was fitting that we ended the night/morning watching Joan Rivers since the whole night was pure comedy. It was one jab thrown out, then another–a veritable ping-pong of scathing and unexpected, but funny commentary at the dinner table, hanging out drinking, watching completely retarded Dick Clark (he needs to go), and sitting around the Christmas tree. The queens made me laugh so much, I literally spit out my wine after a particularly candid jab.

Alright, it’s time for me to lay my little heady down for just a few seconds. I will be back on tonight (I hope) because I wanted to post some of my quasi-resolutions (more like musings) for 08.
