ROSEVILLE — A 22-year-old Rocklin man died early Sunday morning after crashing into a sign displaying the names of stores in a Roseville shopping plaza, officials said.
Placer County Sheriff’s Department officials identified the man as Ron Noah Gacad Rapatalo, who has relatives in Antelope.
Roseville Police Officer Jerry Wernli said officers got a call at 4:15 a.m. about a rolled-over Honda sedan at Stanford Ranch Road and Fairway Drive.
Rapatalo had apparently been going south on Stanford Ranch Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car and hit the sign, Wernli said. Rapatalo was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which is still under investigation.

Speed Again
I really don’t think a lot of the youth in our community listen to the news or even read about it. Another young adult looses out on his future. Sad

Tragic..
It’s a shame that someone as young as I am had to have their life end so suddenly. I drive through that intersection every morning. I see people speed and run red lights almost all the time through there like it’s no big deal. People need to slow down and be more patient and these things wouldn’t happen to the ones we love.

I saw them hauling the car away…
Sad story, but I’d like to know the rest of the story…was he drunk or under the influence of drugs? While it may be true he was driving over the speed limit (and I do not adovocate driving in excess of posted speed limits), the crash area is not a particularly dangerous place to drive that fast, in other words there had to be some other factor other than speed for the crash. Speed by itself does not kill.

This man seemed so nice. He worked at the gym I go to and was one of the only people who worked there that seemed genuine. I didn’t know him very well, but he was always very friendly and polite. I’ll miss seeing him there. I hope his family is doing allright.

Every morning when I would check in at the gym you always would greet me with a smile and “Have a Great workout.” That will truly be missed. I just hope that you know how many people love you and are going to miss you. It is a shame that it had to happen to someone that was so nice, loving and funny. Rest in Peace

I’ll never forget the day I met you…you wouldn’t stop making me laugh. You made fun of me for being in a jump rope club as a kid 🙂 We were laughing so hard. And you would always put up the brown balloons, over all the colors of the rainbow. I guess I never got it till now. You were such a beautiful person. The most down to earth, positive, caring, loving person ever. I will miss you. And every morning member at the gym has missed you more than you could ever imagine… tearing up when they heard that was you. I feel blessed that I got to know you!
