I was set on Nicaragua. A couple things scared me. 1) My Nicaragua guide book said that Spanish is essential. That’s a concern for me, but I’m smart. I can do it. At least I can try. The Spanish CDs came out. I carried my phrase book around to study during down time. Then 2) Two separate friends told me that when they travelled around Central America that Nicaragua was the one country where they got hassled. Hassled…and they both speak Spanish. I decided against it. Gotta go with your instinct and my instinct was saying, ‘Don’t go!’
I’m happy to report that I’m going to Peru: Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Piccu. I finalized my flights tonight. That’s about all I’ve done. I’ll be gone the two weeks after Thanksgiving. You are welcome to come. The more the merrier! I’m so excited. If you have any recommendations for Peru, send them my way.
For those who can’t make it this year, I’m giving almost a year advance warning that next year’s trip is to Patagonia Chile. Check it out.
