This past weekend, I had only 5 people contact me. 3 phone calls, 1 text message, 1 email. I know I owe a lot of people return calls. If you read my blog, I hope you understand any free time I’ve had outside of work, I try to spend de-stressing by myself. Notwithstanding the travel and workload, my pool of playmates has dwindled. Friends are getting married, coupling together, shacking up. My biggest pet peeve? People who suddenly spend all their time with their significant others and forget about their friends.
I needed some numbers to substantiate my claim.
I used as my population pool–friends who I can pick up the phone and call right now if I wanted to. These are the stats:
19 – married
16 – committed relationship
25 – single
I realized, I was wrong. I do still have a lot of single friends. I just need to pick up the phone and reconnect! Also, 5 of my single friends live in NYC. I’m very open to the possibility of moving there one of these days. But for now, I’ll continue to go to the Grove and eat chocolate chip cookies, read books for the book club, and work, work, work.
