Happy Pi Day! Those numbers up there, yeah, I have that memorized. It’s been stuck in my head since sophomore Geometry 1991 with Mr. Aksioncyzk. Not sure if I spelled his name right. Mr. X & √. I love that we celebrated Pi and he gave us extra credit for memorizing it. I thought I had it memorized to the 50th digit, but those numbers in the headline only go up to 40. I was wrong! My memory has failed me and I no longer can recall digits 41-50. No, I’m not going to memorize them again just so I can say I know Pi to the 50th digit. Geez! Besides celebrating Pi day, another kooky thing that Mr. X & √ did was tell a joke before every exam. He pulled out his joke book and read some dud of a joke like, What’s the only book in the bible that has an insect in it? Answer: Timothy. Everyone was scratching their heads because he read the answer Timothy normally without calling out the insect moth in Timothy. Then mid-way through the exam, you’d hear students react, “Ahhh moth. I get it”
