Be Our Guest

We finally had people over to our place last night for the very first time. Yes, unbelievable. I went through my list of friends (I keep an Excel document which I really should move into Google docs) and invited everyone who has had us over to their place for dinner. There were a few exceptions. I did not invite friends with children because no one is going to be able to get a sitter at the last minute, nor is our place kid-friendly. I also didn’t invite those of my friends who aren’t Giants fans—because I can’t have that kind of bad karma in the house when we’re on the brink of going to the World Series! Anywho, out of that pretty long list of invitees, two couples were able to make it which made me realize…I think we only have remove for four guests total. Our place is a one-bedroom and a living room. We do not have an office, deck, or patio. I also liked that we hosted people on a week night. I’ve had parties before on the weekend and there are always a few who seem to overstay their welcome. The “need to be up early for work tomorrow” is a fair enough excuse. But more dinner parties to come!
