Instead of stressing out and back-posting, I’m just going to skip that week since I was on vacation and everyone deserves a break.
I had lunch today with a friend who I don’t meet with often, but when I do, I feel like I’m meeting with a life coach. I should pay her, she’s incredibly wise. It was so refreshing to hear from someone who’s literally writing her own destiny, moving to another country, and doing something entrepreneurial. How many women do you know who do that? None, right? I sat there inspired by how amazing she is.
Plus when I told her about my career, she got it. She completely understood how I could feel stuck, yet secure. It’s the risk-averse dilemma.
Forget everything I’ve written about reality TV. You must watch this 60 Minutes segment I saw during Thanksgiving weekend after the Broncos vs Chargers game on Sunday. It’s heartbreaking, yet inspiring and hopeful. I want to find the brother and sister featured and sponsor them. Despite their homeless situation, they’re unbelievably positive and resilient.
With all the ballyhoo going on with the Occupy movement, I honed in on an article in the University of Chicago magazine about the significant improvement in the lifestyle of the middle class and how that trend has been improving since the 1980s and that it continues its upward trajectory. You wouldn’t know it from all the negative press we’ve been reading.

We got gussied up last night to stroll next door for dinner, then down a block to the theater. “How fun is this? This is where we live.”
The musical Fela (pronounced Fay-luh) extended performances through the end of December. The NY Times review of the off-Broadway Fela was stellar so I jumped on front-row Loge section seats. Because who really reads the Chronicle reviews of anything. That’s like asking a kindegartner what they think of a show.
