My company hosted a large-scale event this week. Something that hasn’t been done by the company in forever (10+ years). After months of planning and a full-day rehearsal, I was nervous as we approached showtime. During registration, I greeted attendees. Others came by and introduced themselves.
“After all these phone calls, I was wondering what a ‘Gacad’ looks like. It’s good to meet you Catherine.”
The most important thing at the event, as it is in life, is the networking. Everyone chatted during breakfast, lunch, and breaks. We drank and ate during dinner. It was really enjoyable. My coworker commented, “This is what your wedding’s going to be like. It’s surreal that it’s finally here. And it’s fun, too.” Despite the exhaustion and sleep-deprivation, I liked my job even more after this week.
Now…on to the wedding.
