Break out the champagne. There’s more celebrating to be done. Make that four minor holidays over the course of six days.
March 14 – Pi Day
March 15 – Ides of March
March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day
March 19 – St. Joseph’s Day
A day celebrating the stepfather of Jesus Christ wouldn’t normally be significant to most people, but I happened to go to St. Joseph elementary for eight years and St. Joseph Notre Dame high school for four years. That means more than one-third of my life was spent being educated in schools named in honor of the Virgin Mary’s hubby.
I guess I never realized all these back-to-back holidays before. In fact, they’ve all caught me off-guard. I’ll have to block these holidays out in 2011 to celebrate more fully.
